History of 1st UMC:

First United Methodist Church of Clarksville began as First United Brethren Church in 1913 when fourteen families joined together and formed a congregation. The present structure was completed and dedicated in 1925. In 1946 the United Brethren denomination merged with the Evangelical Church to form the Evangelical United Brethren Church. Later, in 1968, the EUB Church merged with The Methodist Church to create the United Methodist Church in America.

Clarksville First is a small congregation with big hearts. Presently it has 68 members ranging in age from 2 months to 89 years! We welcome visitors to worship with us. We just might be the church and congregation you have been looking for.
